Seems my wish has been granted (see here, here and here) and, finally, a concept album about Harlow New Town, or any new town come to that.
Ex-Hefner man Darren Hayman & The Seconday Modern's Pram Town is reviewed over at the Quietus and features a charming illustration of Sir Frederick Gibberd's soft Scandinavian moderne on the cover, plus (and I am almost beside myself with expectation here) sleeve notes about the town's history.
I was never particularly a fan of Hefner but such happy collisions of bleak underpasses, yearning pop and personal nostalgia come together but rarely.
