I'm boring myself a bit here, but as my meagre marketing budget has now run out, I thought I'd point out to anyone still interested in reading Fantastic Journal's fantastic DIY pamphlet, that you can download a pdf version of it from this website, absolutely free.
In other news I have a review of Simon Reynolds' book Retromania coming out in the upcoming 100th issue of Icon *trumpet salute*. This month's issue also contains a lovely birthday card lovingly created by FAT wishing Icon all the best on their glorious century.....
I also have a very short review of a book about Terry Farrell's Post Modern interiors in the next issue of Architecture Today. After that, there will be no more talk of Po Mo, I promise.
Finally, below this update post is a proper one about the irrational/rational tendencies of high tech architecture.

It is indeed a fantastic pamphlet, and reminds me of the weird feeling I had looking at magazines when I was a kid in the 70s. I have never loved burnt orange crushed velvet, so my infant aesthetic sense constantly was being irritated. The pamphlet also somehow reminds me of my first recognition of class differences. I was three.
Thanks for your comment Blaize....burnt orange might be my favourite colour!
Now that I think about it more, I also like most shades of orange. I think it really is the more poop-colored tones that I dislike. I know you know what I'm talking about, because you have a kid.
